My little daredevil

Two posts in one day, who would have thought!  I'm actually trying to make up for my lack of correspondence this past month.

Anyways, back to the subject of my blog.  I so have my hands full with this child of mine.  Well I think most of us already new this with the climbing out of his crib and playing in the toilet.  Now my child has decided he has absolutely no fear.  He's into anything and everything.  I swear this child is aging me quickly.  His latest feats are opening up doors and trying to escape, climbing out of the grocery cart (with the seatbelt on), climbing over his baby gates and going down slides head first.  He also loves the water and has learned how to stop the drain as well as turn on the water.  He plays in everything from the pets water bowls to the water dispenser on the fridge and of course the toilet.  I cannot tell you how many times a day I walk in a wet puddle on the kitchen floor and I now understand why they make such things as toilet locks.  If all of that weren't enough Hunter also knows how to take both his clothes and diaper off.  I think I've created a little independent monster!

Meet our newest family member!

So since we're moving, Kenneth said we could get a dog :)  Well last weekend we went to the Humane Society just to look and of course left with a puppy.  Hunter is completely enamored with her and they are the best of friends.  Saki is growing on Bonnie but Clyde is still instilling his dominance.  So if I didn't have my hands full before, I totally do now.

So I fail...

Once again I've been horrible at keeping this blog going.  But does that really surprise anyone?  So today you can all see a pic of my new haircut for those who don't get to see it in person.  I can't believe I actually cut it off.  As I watched her cut my 14 inches I was really regretting it but have to admit that I do love the outcome!  And I lost two pounds by cutting it off.  Now only 12 more to go!

And the little man turns 1!

So I'm a little behind, big surrpise!  Anyways, the little man turned one last weekend, well I guess technically he turned 365 days since he doesn't have his first birthday until 2012.  He had a great day and celebrated with his best friend.  The cake and tissue paper were definitely the favorites.  He was a very lucky little boy and received lots of great gifts and of course lots of attention.  Thanks for the cards, phone calls & gifts everyone!

Most days I love my DH...

As you know from my previous post, we've been having issues with getting the little man to sleep in his own bed.  Well last night we finally made progress and he went right to bed and slept through the night.  Today was looking good and he went down without a hitch.  Well then DH decides that he needs to go to Walmart to buy a new alarm clock (Clyde ate through the cord on the old one...) and doesn't look at the alarm panel to notice the alarm in on instant (which he set BTW).  Next thing I know the sirens start wailing and I hear a thud and then "MAMA MAMA" being screamed at me from down the hall.  I run down the hall to calm the little man and there he is standing at the door clutching his blanket and teddy bear at his gate completely terrified.  If he wasn't screaming bloody murder, I more then likely would have ran to grab the camera, as it was such a pitiful sight.  Thankfully I finally calmed him back down and three stories later he's once again sleeping peacefully in his bed.  (Since I didn't have  a pic from tonight, I cheated and used one from the other day)!

I just don't get it!

I was looking around the internet tonight for gift ideas for Hunter's first birthday and came across the coolest thing ever.  For those of you who have seen the little man eat, you will completely understand why I was so excited.  Well they make long sleeve bibs!  Who knew?!?  They look like those paint smocks you wear in preschool.  The downfall?  The little boys print is urban something or another.  I just don't get what is with the skulls all over kids clothes these days.  I totally don't understand what the draw is?  Although I suppose after having it for only a week it will be stained with spaghetti, berries and who knows what else.  I mean the point is really to prevent him from ruining yet another outfit and not win a fashion contest right?  Or maybe I will just stick with the eating in the diaper trend I've started the past week.  It really cuts down on the laundry!

Sleep training a crazy little man!

A few months ago, Hunter decided to outsmart his crib and learned to climb out of it.  One day I went upstairs to change out laundry and found Hunter playing with his bath toys in the toilet.  I figured out he was using the chair next to his bed to climb out.  Moved the chair and problem solved, right?  Of course not, that would be too easy.  Hunter has once again learned how to climb out of his crib.  He takes all of his animals & blankets and puts them in the one corner and out he climbs.  I finally decided that my child was too smart for me and into a toddler bed he went.   One would think he would love his new found freedom of getting into and out of his bed on his own.  Wrong, again.  During the day he loves to climb into and out of his bed a million times as he laughs hysterically.  But when it comes time to sleep in it, he sits in the middle of his bed and screams.  And I thought the nights of endless crying were past us....
